Engineering Innovation in Puerto Rico
As part of the EGR 103 course, students will travel to the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico over Spring Break to learn about the contemporary engineering issues associated with rebuilding the infrastructure devastated by Hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017. This project-based course will involve students learning about the island’s rich culture and complex history while they help with ongoing development projects. During our time in PR, students will be tasked with identifying projects for their team to explore further upon their return to UD. In addition, students will connect with local community members and UD alumni, visit schools, and explore cultural highlights including the El Yunque Rainforest, local beaches, and Old San Juan.
Accepted applicants will be enrolled in a specific section of EGR 103 for Spring 2019 that includes this required travel component.
