About the Program

Located in Angers, the Universite Catholique de l'Ouest is a private, Catholic university offering an intensive French language program and a broad Humanities-based curriculum.  Students may participate in semester and year-long programs as well as internships.

Special Offering: For students studying in the Fall, add a free month of intensive French language to your semester!  You'll arrive one month early and have the benefit of a language program to get situated for the fall semester!

Areas of Study

Most majors will find coursework that will apply towards their degree at UD.  French proficiency is required.  An intensive French Language Program is also available to students through CIDEF.  CIDEF Courses and Levels.pdf

The CIDEF French Language Program

The CIDEF program is a unique learning experience that allows students to take part in a semester of intensive French Language and Culture.  Students can come into the program at any level of prior language knowledge and easily apply the course work towards their minor, or major, in French at the University of Dayton.  To learn more about the opportunities available to students through UCO's language school please visit their website through the following link.

Students must be in good academic and disciplinary standing.

Pre-departure Orientation

Students will be required to participate in a pre-departure orientation in the semester prior to their program participation.  Dates and times will be announced.

Cost and Refund Policy

Students will be responsible for UD Tuition (billed by UD), as well as the room, board, and travel costs associated with this program (arranged independently).  Most financial aid will apply to the semester budget for each student.
