It was a challenge to adjust to such a different culture at first, however, by the end I wish I had more time there. The experience is invaluable.

Take advantage of the weekend excursions. Sign up early! These trips are an amazing way to see other parts of France from castles to national monuments. Communicate with your host family. Speak up at dinner. Of course you won't know the same amount of French as your parents but that's okay. It will only get better.

Future students should go into the program willingly. It's normal to be apprehensive before the trip, but it is incredibly worth it.

Kaylie Ann Jasensky, Summer 2014 Participant
I loved how diverse this program was, there were 21 countries and 140 students there. The people of the town were so nice and really did understand you were learning the language and would help you. My host family really made the trip amazing, we had amazing home cooked meals every night! It was an amazing and unique experience

I could not recommend this program more highly to any potentially interested students. I elevated my French linguistic abilities tremendously, I had my breath taken away by new experiences every single day, and I met an entirely new crowd of friends with diverse backgrounds like I never have before. I formed a great relationship with my host family, my student-teachers (the monatrices), my full-time teacher, and friends from all areas of the world. Communicating in French comprehensively with students who spoke no English from areas like Brazil, South Korea and Spain was a very enjoyable and novel experience for me. The little things in French culture make a world of difference, and I for one enjoyed discerning the differences between American and French culture. I knew that I would love Study Abroad, but I couldn't have predicted how great of friendships I would form, how much my French language abilities would improve, and how attached I would become to French culture. I cannot stop scheming my return.

This program was the best month I have ever had in my life. I made lifelong friends, learned about the culture, and it helped me find myself and what I truly would like to do upon graduation. I wouldn't trade it for the world.
