About the Program
Even though you’ll be thousands of miles away, the experience at the China Institute will make you feel at home. Students live together in modern, suite-style apartments, with the comforts of their own bedroom, private bathroom, free laundry facility on each floor, and central heating/air-conditioning. Plus, to assist you while abroad, the China Institute has a dedicated Office of Student Life to guide you along the experience. Our state-of-the-art learning facility is equipped with classrooms, laboratories, meeting spaces, a reading room, and much more so you can excel in your studies while enjoying the experience of a lifetime.

Curricular Options and Upcoming Programs
Students take University of Dayton courses offered through the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Business Administration and School of Engineering. Since the courses are UD courses, University of Dayton students will not need to transfer any credits, and for non-UD students, the credit transfer process is very easy!

The spring 2019 semester long program at the China Institute is 14 weeks long and will run from January 15 to April 29, 2019. The program contains two six-week academic sessions and two breaks. Plus, you'll be home early for summer!

All courses are taught by University of Dayton faculty members or by qualified instructors invited from our partner institutions.
Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50. Students must also be in good behavioral and academic standing with the University of Dayton. Students who have below a 2.50 cumulative GPA will be considered for admission on a case-by-case basis.
The University of Dayton China Institute holds pre-departure events that fully prepare students for their education abroad experience. Once students arrive at the China Institute, they will participate in a two-day orientation so they can become familiar with the China Institute, residential facility and the surrounding area.
Mandatory pre-departure dates for the spring 2019 program are as follows:
Session 1: October 16, 2018; 3:30-5:00pm
Session 2: October 26, 2018; 3:30-5:15pm
Session 3: November 16, 2018; 3:30-5:00pm
Session 4: November 30, 2018; 3:30-4:30pm

Cost and Refund Policy
University of Dayton students can spend a semester at the China Institute at the same cost as one on-campus semester at the University of Dayton. To view detailed cost information, please visit the Budget Sheet.
The semester program cost includes: tuition, airfare and program transportation, Chinese visa costs, housing, meals and associated tours and excursions. For summer programs, the program cost includes all the same items as a semester program, except for meals.
For non-UD students, your program costs may differ. Please visit your Office of Education Abroad or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org for your program cost.
