Most memorable experience

During spring break I went on a school sponsored "Trip to the South" that took us to the Sahara desert. We spent the night in tents in the desert. It was an amazing, breathtaking experience. Visiting the Sahara and riding a camel is something that everyone must do on their visit to Morocco. During this trip I also got to know the Moroccan students better which made the rest of the semester much more enjoyable.

Moroccans are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. They are always opening their house to others, Moroccan students I barely knew invited me over to meet their family, see their house, or have a meal. I met a girl who had studied at Dayton the semester before I was in Morocco and shortly after I met her she invited me and my 3 friends over to her house for a meal- it was the best meal I had all semester! Neither of her parents spoke English so they are to have their daughter translate for us and her younger sister was learning English and they were all so excited to have some Americans at their house, and to meet someone from the university that their daughter had studied at.
