My experience in this particular program was unforgettable. Though it was challenging adjusting to a new lifestyle and academic structure, I believe that I grew as a person and learned more about myself as well as my desires for the future. I traveled, I learned, I gained frienships that will last a lifetime and most importantly, I came back home appreciating the things I once took for granted.

School life is very different from that at UD but it is still an amazing experience to meet people from all over the world and get their insight in the classroom. The people I met and the cultural experiences I had were some of the most memorable and amazing experiences I have had. At times the language barrier made things difficult but it was fun to try and talk to people and figure out a way to communicate that everyone would understand, which led to a lot of hand gestures and laughter since we looked crazy. The most rewarding thing was when you figure out how to get around and you look comfortable enough that people come up to you asking for directions etc.as well as getting more comfortable with the language and being able to talk to the natives.

It was not what I was expecting to experience, but not in a bad way. The people I met and the culture I got to know were so different from what I had pictured, but it was so much fun! I already miss the siestas and tapas and being able to hop on the metro and go anywhere in the city. I want to go back!

It was a great opportunity for me to grow as a person and to learn about myself and the world!
